My weekend was all about cozy knitting — TV shows in the background, the sound of rain outside, and by the end of it: a finished pair of socks! ☕🌧️
I knitted children’s socks from Gründl Trio Print — size 33/34, for a boy.
And honestly, I’m so happy with how they turned out! 😍
To be honest, I actually ordered this yarn just because of this one particular skein — the colorway completely stole my heart.
Those gorgeous shades of green, blended with beige, and then, as the “cherry on top,” a touch of burgundy and mustard yellow.
Just the perfect autumn mix! 🍂
And since our whole wardrobe is basically in beige, brown, and green tones, it fits right in — like it was made for us.
So, long story short 😄
I used 2.0 mm needles and cast on 56 stitches using my knot cast-on method — after I completely messed up another pair with the ever-popular twisted cast-on 🙈, I decided to go back to my trusty old way.
Then I knitted 22 rounds of 2×2 ribbing, switched to stockinette stitch for the leg — 50 rounds (about 10.5 cm) before starting the Strong Heel increases.
After finishing the heel, I worked another 50 rounds for the foot, then bound off using the band method until there were 12 stitches left on each needle, and closed it with the Kitchener stitch — textbook perfect.
📏 Measurements:
🧶 Foot length — 21 cm
🧶 Leg height (including cuff) — 16 cm
They turned out neat, even, and wonderfully cozy — dense but soft, and the colors just make me happy every time I look at them.
I think they’ll wear beautifully: no itching, no pulling, and they look perfectly warm and homey. 🩶
As for the leftover yarn, I’m definitely keeping it 😊 — there’s just enough to combine and knit something small for myself, maybe fingerless mitts or short socks, just for fun and good knitting vibes.
🧶 How about you?
Have you ever knitted with Gründl Trio Print?
How do you like it — the colors, the texture, how it wears over time?
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
